Destination Wedding at Doe Lake Campground. Umatilla, FL | Carlos + Emily

January 5, 2016

Do you ever get the feeling when something really good is about to happen that everything seems to be working against you? This was my last wedding in 2015 and that was the case for this trip. To start I booked my ticket to the wrong city. Minor detail.

Then 10:00 pm the night before my flight I was standing by the living room window looking out as the wind howled through the trees, rain was falling heavily against the glass and off in the distance I could hear the tornado sirens sounding off in town.

In my whole career I’d never missed a wedding and this wasn’t going to be the first.

I made my flight, I made it to the hotel, I made it to the wedding, and thank God for it.

These are the kinda days that set my soul on fire, the kind of people I love to work with.

Surrounded by nature. The light was golden. the love was thick as honey.

“…Today I vow to stay thankful for you,

I vow to cherish you with all of myself,

for the rest of our lives.

In the most beautiful of moments,

and the not so beautiful of ones…” – Carlos
